Any family is tagged as a happy family if it encompasses all aspects of peace, harmony, and prosperity by accepting the differences of each other and living together as a complete whole. Shiva family is the best example to justify the above characteristic of a family; Shiva Parivar is symbolic of the entire universe and its essence. As per Hindu mythology, every member of the Shiva Parivar holds their sacred qualities and divineness, and worshipping them together protects devotees from negativity and worsened situations. This finely sculpted brass statue is a representation of the Shiva family in their iconic postures. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are considered to be universal parents and a symbol of a perfect married couple.
They sit here with the legs on one side on Shiva’s auspiciousness vahana, Nandi; ornated with a chain of bells around her neck as a necklace and at the back along with a richly carved saddle, having two full blooming lotuses in the center on either side and the divine symbols of om and satiya on the other side. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are dressed in the best of their attires and ornaments that enhance their aesthetics and divinity. Shiva holds his garlanded trident in one hand and blesses the devotees with the other, while the remaining hands on the left side are hidden behind Ganesha’s back. Parvati carries the lotus flower in the left hand and right holds Shiva’s waist from the back as a gesture of their infinite love bond and support for each other.
Lord Ganesha, Shiva and Parvati’s younger son, sits on Shiva’s lap depicting the never-ending bond of father and son. He holds the bowl of his favorite laddoos and other weapons for saving humanity. Ganesha and Parvati are crowned graciously and the auspicious river Ganga flows from Shiva’s head. The sculptor has taken care of every attribute of the divinities while carving out this Brass Shiva Parivar Statue; maintaining that essence of realism and heavenly aura.
